And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.” (Luke 19:15)The Accounting
class at Central Christian School will train students to become good stewards
of both monetary and non-cash assets as they may be acquired in the field of
business. It will also teach students the ethical values associated with
business ownership, reporting issues, and the acquisition of debt.
Grading is based on in-class participation,
accounting practice assignments, short answer assignments, quizzes and tests.
Web-based research assignments will be given periodically. Students are
responsible for the information in the assigned reading material whether or not
the instructor goes over the information in class. In order to prepare students
for college level textbooks and scholarly papers, students occasionally will be
assigned to read portions of such material. Students who wish to confirm their current grade may contact
the teacher.
Most homework will consist of required reading and
the practice of accounting entries and financial statement preparation using
the student’s accounting working papers. Homework is due at the beginning of
the class period.
