God’s Word teaches us that our human body is considered His temple and exists for His honor and glory. Our desire is that students in 9th grade health / physical education will honor God by learning to use their bodies (His temple) to pursue fitness of abilities, actions, thoughts and attitudes. This course is an elective designed for students who desire to improve their overall fitness level through strength training and exercise.
The theme verse for this class indicates that exercise and hard work are profitable, however it is godliness that holds promise for eternity. I Timothy 4:8 states, “ For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.“ The students will be encouraged to maintain a proper perspective and motivation for fitness and strength development.

- Understand the basic anatomy and physiology of the neuromuscular system and it’s ability to create movement.
